         PRAYAS  Nepal is a registered non-governmental and non-profit making organization that has been working in Dhading District since 2001. Currently, PRAYAS Nepal is implementing six community based projects over the district with a team of more than 62 People. PRAYAS Nepal in Partnership with Planate Enfants & Development is going to implement Investing in Early Childhood Project for 3 years in  Gajuri Municipality of Dhading District. PRAYAS Nepal is seeking one qualified candidate for the Position of Project Coordinator.
Position: Project Coordinator
Project Coordinator for Early Childhood Development has overall responsibility of execution the project activities as per the program designed of Investing in Early Childhood Development Project. This position holder will be mainly stationed in the project office Gajuri with frequent visit to the head office of PRAYAS Nepal-Dhading to carry out day to day functions. As a coordinator for this project, the position requires strong leadership and coordination role with all the key stakeholders such as Gajuri Municipality, education authority in district, School Management Committee, Community leaders and relevant service providers and institutions
Location: Neelakantha  3 Sugamtol Dhading Besi
Contract Duration: 11 months with the possibility of extension till end of July 2023.
Key responsibilities
As the project leader, the PC will be responsible
  • To prepare the periodical action plan of the project (monthly, quarterly, annual) as needed project documents, Orient the project team on the plan and ensure the quality implementation
  • Carry out the supervision and monitoring of the project to ensure the expected results are achieved, develop the data system and keep updated records.
  • Coordinate the activities in Investing in Early Childhood Project in Dhading District within an agreed time frame and budget
  • Mobilise the project team, support on the capacity building of the team, Provide managerial oversight and technical support to 5 social mobilizer
  • Build up the strong relationships and networking with all the key stakeholders such as Gajuri Municipality, education authority in district, schools administration, School Management Committee, Community leaders and relevant service providers and institutions.
  • Prepare the periodical reports (monthly, quarterly, annual), communicate with resource partners (PE&D) on project issues,
Coordination of the Investing in Early Childhood  project
Overall project Coordination (including HR)
  • Participate in the recruitment of the project field team : 5 mobilizes
  • Coordinate with working municipality, Schools & communities for smooth implementation of the project
  • Support to carry out the baseline and end line surveys, to collect required data / information for the project
  • Implement and coordinate all the project activities according to the projects’ documents and the annual plan in order to achieve objectives and expected results :
  • Prepare the Awareness sessions plans for parents, train the team on those sessions.
  • Organise different meetings, workshops, training such as Training for ECD Teacher,
  • Technical support for ECD class at School
  • Carry out regular field monitoring visits with aim for improving performance, project activities tracking, quality achievement, and sustainability of the project; (develop public, community and private EC services, improving early childhood care and education, building the capacity of local actors and stakeholders and raising awareness of local communities on early childhood development with the project standards and methodologies).
  • Provide technical support to the social mobilizer.
Constantly supervise and reinforce training and confidence of the team, by engaging regularly in outreach activities.
  • Support project team in preparation and updating of their monthly work-plans
  • Create staff development plans with the support of PRAYAS Nepal’s management team.
  • in collaboration with Monitor and provide feedback on staff performance, including completing staff performance evaluations to promote them.
  • Conduct monthly team meeting and provide feedback to the social mobilizer to implement the project in the sustainable way.
Coordination and networking
  • Develop informal and formal partnerships with local schools, women’s groups, CBOs and other service providers at community level
  • Meaningfully engage ECD Teacher and community members, particularly SMC in design, implementation, and monitoring in order to maintain inclusive programs, contextual relevance,  and sustainability
  • Identify, monitor, and analyze gaps in access to and quality of ECD services
  • Ensure close monitoring of ECD education collaboratively develop strategies to support more trustworthy, child-sensitive services
  • In collaboration with PE&D, develop working relationships with service providers and institutions to set up project related activities
  • Coordinate with Gajuri Municipality to promote the quality ECD services in the municipality
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports in provided format to PRAYAS Nepal  Executive  director and  PE&D.
Keep PE&D regularly informed of progress made and difficulties encountered in implementing the project.
  • Bachelor/Masters Degree in Social Sciences, or other related field
  • At least 3 years experience working on Education especially on  ECD -related project
  • Excellent experience in leading and managing project on relevant areas
  • Proven experience on Community mobilization
  • Good knowledge of ECD National International best practices
  • Knowledge of the Chepang community is an asset
  • Excellent work experience in Teachers training facilitation, mentoring and capacity development
  • Demonstrated experience of monitoring projects
  • Strong coordination skills with proven ability to work across multiple technical areas simultaneously, supporting and mentoring multiple staff members
  • Committed to work in remote areas
  • Ability to write quality reports
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email, etc)
